Gov. Walker is Committed to “No More” with ANWR

Governor Bill Walker (I-AK) has shown that as the leader of Alaska he is not going to let the federal government pick and choose which laws it follows when it comes to trampling on Alaska’s states rights. He further demonstrated this sentiment in his recent op-ed highlighting Alaska’s need to develop its “mineral resources to establish a viable economy and support the costs of self-government.” The statehood compact makes it clear that Alaska will fund itself and its people through resource extraction, and the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA) specifically states that no more studies of the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge are necessary and no more land will be placed into Wilderness.

Arctic Power will work to broadcast the Governor’s position in Washington, DC.
